2 months of the year have now come and gone. In North Carolina, February was the 4th coldest in recorded history. There was lots of snow and ice and I’m pretty sure everyone is now officially ready for spring. March is here and we are about to get into the best time for college basketball (although being an NC State fan also usually makes it a heart breaking time). It is time again for me to take a look back at how I am doing at my New Year’s resolutions. Let’s hope I did better than I did in January.
Stop hitting the snooze button
I am terrible at this goal. I don’t know that it happened a single time in February (except for the days where Angela set her alarm and woke me up). Some people would probably suggest for me to move my alarm clock away from the bed, but I can promise you that won’t work. I’ve done it before and would get out of bed, snooze the alarm and lay back down without having any recollection of it. I’m not really sure how I am going to break myself of this one, but I’ll keep trying in March.
Have a quiet time daily
I have not had a quiet time daily, but I had them more often than in January. Since my son’s name is Ezekiel, I am reading through Ezekiel. I thought it would be a cool thing to do so I went for it. I have also got back in to the habit of listening to sermons while I am in the car and listening to more worship music.
Post on my blog at least once a week
I crushed this goal. In February I posted 8 posts. The calendar that I have has helped a lot in reaching this goal. I plan to carry this success into March and make it a habit. Of all my goals, this is one of the most important to me, so it feels really good to be on track with it. I also introduced my Picture of the Week post and am having fun with that so far. If you have some pictures you would like featured let me know.
Read one book a month
I did not finish the book I started in February. I also have not finished my January book. So I am 0-2 at this goal. I had to color in a square orange on my calendar because of this. It is the first time I have had to mark I missed a goal. It did not feel very good. I have a lot to make up for in March, but I plan on catching up. I have decided that I each day I will not watch TV until I have read at least a chapter of a book. If I do this every day, I should be caught up or even ahead on this goal by the end of March.
Reach my goal weight
I am still not at my goal weight, but continued to lose weight during February. I have got into a little bit of a workout routine, but all the snow and ice has not made that easy. I’ve started doing some weight training at my house in preparation for Zeke. Be on the lookout for my Baby 101 workout DVDs to be hitting the market soon.
February was a better month for me as far as hitting my goals. There is still lots of room for improvement (especially in the snooze department) but I am excited to be on the right track. March will present lots of new challenges with Zeke being born, but I am excited to be heading into it on a positive note. Hopefully when I report in April, I will be able to say I am in full stride hitting my goals.
until next time…
