They always say that time flies when you are having fun. Time also flies when you are dealing with a newborn. Except in the middle of the night when they decide they don’t want to sleep. Then it can seem as though time lasts forever. You feel as though hours have gone by and you check your watch and realize it was only 15 minutes. It’s at the point that you wish you could reason with them. You wish you could speak and they would understand what you were saying and listen. But you can’t so you just start running down your check list. [Read more…] about Picture of the Week – 4/27/15

Why I Bought Index Cards
Recently I started reading Do Over by Jon Acuff. I have a goal to read a book a month, and it is my book for April. I do not enjoy reading fiction, so all the books I read are non-fiction. Sometimes the author will give you activities to do while you are reading the book. Something like “write down an answer to these questions,” or “take a few minutes and think about this.” When I get to those parts of the book, I always do the same thing. I skip it. On April 20th the picture I will be posting will not be similar to the pictures most people will be posting, but I’d argue it’s better. In case you haven’t noticed from all pollen that is around, spring is back! It is finally that time of the year that I can wear flip-flops and shorts again. Another thing that comes back with spring is baseball. Now I am not a huge baseball fan. I am not the kind of person that can watch a game on TV. The only way I can do that is if I have something else to do while I am watching. Even the other night when NC State was playing UNC, I had to put the game on my iPad and watch something else on TV. But I really enjoy going to baseball games. Some people may find that weird, but I think it is very similar. [Read more…] about Picture of the Week – 4/13/15
April Resolution Check Up
March has come and gone, and it was a pretty happening month. I got to watch the Wolfpack make another Sweet 16 run. March is now a big birthday month in my house. It already had Angela’s birthday, but with the arrival of Zeke we now get back to back birthdays. Angela’s sister’s birthday and my brother’s birthday are also in March, so we will be buying lots of presents in March. [Read more…] about April Resolution Check Up
