Yesterday was Easter. With Zeke being so young, and Angela not being cleared to carry him, we had to miss out on church. I was legitimately disappointed. I love Charisma Church services, and we always have fun on holiday services. It got me thinking to one of my favorite Easter services we have done. It was a huge video/music/drama production called The Evidence Please. Charisma has never been afraid to go against the norm. In the event there was one song that our intern band was going to perform. [Read more…] about Picture of the Week – 4/6/15

Zeke’s First Week
Ezekiel is officially 1 week old today. The whole pregnancy people would tell me, “Cherish every moment because it goes by so fast.” I would smile and say yeah, but in my head I would usually be rolling my eyes. Yet here I am trying to figure out where on Earth the past week went. It doesn’t seem like a week has gone by since I wrote my post about scheduling the C-section. It seems like yesterday I was sitting in the hospital holding Zeke for the first time. It is crazy to think about how much can happen in a week. [Read more…] about Zeke’s First Week
Picture of the Week – 3/31/15
The struggle was real this week trying to pick out the Picture of the Week. So much so, that I decided to take a couple extra days and think about it. The struggle wasn’t that I couldn’t find a picture. It was that there were just way too many to pick from. Right now next to me, asleep in the bassinet, is my little champ, Ezekiel. The past 5 days have been a crazy journey, but I’ll get into that in another post (I know you are checking out this post for the picture and not my witty banter). The Wait Is Over
This morning, Angela and I started off her birthday like any couple would, with an OBGYN appointment. With Zeke still chilling inside Angela, the docs needed to check up on everything and make sure everyone was doing OK. We have joked that we found out about him on my birthday and she could deliver him on hers. They did an ultrasound and everything was looking good. Heartbeat was strong and everything was where it is supposed to be. After that we went to another room where they hooked Angela up to some monitors to further check his heartbeat and see if she was having any contractions. While she was hooked up to that the doc came in and asked us if we knew about the weight of the baby. We didn’t. The people doing the ultrasound hadn’t told us (and we didn’t know to ask). Our doctor joked about people like surprises when it comes to babies, but we told him we weren’t trying to be surprised. [Read more…] about The Wait Is Over
The Book of Ezekiel
As a lot of you are already aware, any minute now Zeke will enter the world. About a month ago, I set out to read Ezekiel in the Bible for fun since that is his name. I basically would have to read a chapter a day to finish it by the time his due date got here. I guess you could say the name Ezekiel is a nice Christian name since there is a book in the Bible named that, but that isn’t really why Angela and I picked it. We liked the way it sounded and the meaning of it. Zeke is also a pretty sweet nickname. So I figured I would refresh my memory about the Bible’s Ezekiel for fun. Picture of the Week – 3/15/15
The older you get, the more boring life can become. You get a job, get settled into a routine and all the sudden you are starting to wonder where all the fun went. But the key word is “can.” Life doesn’t have to be that way, but I’ve learned that you are the one that has to do something about it. This week’s Picture of the Week comes from the very first North 11 show. I was running sound and during the last song I figured it was time to have a little fun. Everything sounded fine and the board would be OK for a minute if I wasn’t at it. I ran over to Amber and said, “You should crowd surf.” She looked at me with a somewhat confused look and said, “Now!?” [Read more…] about Picture of the Week – 3/15/15
