Trusting God To Provide

November 28, 2019

Today’s post is a guest post by Angela. You can look forward to seeing a post from her about once a month.

It’s been about a year since I’ve officially launched my business, eight38 Designs.  My prayer has always been that God would use it however He wants. I’ve tried to view eight38 as a ministry more than a business.  Now this doesn’t mean I don’t want to generate income through it (of course I want to do that), but I want God’s love to be communicated through all that I do.

Friend or Foe

April 28, 2019

Today’s post is a guest post by Angela. You can look forward to seeing a post from her about once a month.

When I began my first full-time job I had a lot of trouble adjusting and getting to know people.  There were a few people who did not like me for reasons I did not understand and they made this abundantly clear.  I was an outsider and no matter how hard I tried to be helpful or kind I was met with hostility.  It got to the point that I was pretty miserable at work.  It wasn’t long before I gave up trying to be nice.  I got through my day but did not make any effort to be kind.  It’s not a time of my life I’m particularly proud of.

The Table

January 25, 2019

Today’s post is a guest post by Angela. You can look forward to seeing a post from her once a month.

Recently I refinished my sister’s dining room table.  When I was stripping the paint I quickly realized there were many layers.  It appeared that previous owners had simply put new paint on instead of stripping the old away and starting with the bare wood.  The result was a mess.  Before I started stripping the table it wasn’t terrible- the newest layer of paint had mostly covered the imperfections but it was far from the beautiful table it once was.

These Are Not My Children

November 8, 2018

Today’s post is a guest post by Angela. You can look forward to seeing a post from her once a month.

Our church is doing a bible reading plan and one day we were reading Luke 2.   The Christmas story.   I have read this passage countless times- almost exclusively in December.   But this time a rather odd passage stuck out to me.  Verses 21-24 say, “Eight days later, when the baby was circumcised, he was named Jesus, the name given him by the angel even before he was conceived. Then it was time for their purification offering, as required by the law of Moses after the birth of a child; so his parents took him to Jerusalem to present him to the Lord. The law of the Lord says, “If a woman’s first child is a boy, he must be dedicated to the Lord.” So they offered the sacrifice required in the law of the Lord— either a pair of turtledoves or two young pigeons.” [Read more…] about These Are Not My Children

Little People- Big Lessons

October 12, 2018

Today’s post is a guest post by Angela. You can look forward to seeing a post from her once a month.

Sometimes the littlest people can teach us big lessons.

Anyone who has met my littles probably knows their obsession with vehicles runs deep.  We sing the “wee-ooo wee-ooo” firetruck song about 50 times a day.  So when I heard about the “Touch-A-Truck” event at our community center I knew they would love it.  If you’ve never been to one it is exactly what I sounds like, a parking lot full of trucks and diggers for kids to climb on.   It is essentially a toddler’s paradise.   Sadly, Addie was sick today and couldn’t go.  I decided to take Zeke anyways while she stayed home with Nick.
