I haven’t been posting regularly on my blog for a little while now. I’ve done a lot of thinking about what to do with my blog, what my goal is, and how to proceed. The conclusion that I have reached is I’m not sure. So I have decided to take a month away from it all. I’m going to take that time and really pray and think about the direction I want this blog to head. I’m also going to take the time away from Facebook Live and Periscope. Instead, I’ll spend the time seeking God and seeking what He wants me to do. [Read more…] about See You In A Month

Love Isn’t Passive
It’s been just over a week since I wrote my last post and there are already more tragedies to add to the list. It seems like there is starting to be a collective “what in the world is going on” going around. Anger is being answered with anger. Violence is being answered with violence. What is the world coming to? It’s getting to the point where I worry that the next time I open Facebook or Twitter I will find out about another tragic event. As I read about all these events, I wonder what it is that I can do to help. Honestly, I don’t really have an answer. [Read more…] about Love Isn’t Passive
Land Of The Free?
America celebrated Independence Day this past Monday. People celebrated their freedom by eating hot dogs, drinking beer, and shooting off fireworks. ‘Murica! In the days that followed news continues to pour out that makes me sick to my stomach. It has left such a stirring in my heart that I feel I can’t ignore it. Before I go any further I will say I am extremely thankful for those in the military who risk their lives for the freedom that I enjoy. I also have multiple family members, including my brother, in the police force and appreciate what cops do to protect this country. But what in the world is happening in America? How do we celebrate freedom one day and then have a series of events unfold that show the exact opposite? [Read more…] about Land Of The Free?
Losing To A Ceiling Fan
I installed a ceiling fan today. Oh the joys of being an adult. Angela and I had wanted a fan for our living room for a while. So I told her that was what I wanted for Father’s Day (super cool I know). I knew our living room was pre-wired for a fan to use a switch on the wall, so I figured there wouldn’t be anything to complicated as long as I followed the instructions. I got the mount installed and connected all the wires. But I was not ready for what happened next. [Read more…] about Losing To A Ceiling Fan
A House Divided
The church scene in America is one of the most convoluted messes right now. What is supposed to be a united body spreading the gospel of Jesus has turned into a broken and busted body that is fighting against itself. It seems like every day I am hearing of some new denomination that was formed because some church member got pissed-off and decided they wanted to do things slightly different. You can’t be just Baptist anymore. You have Baptist, free-will Baptist, reformed Baptist, Baptist plus drums, Baptist with women pastors as long as they aren’t head pastors, and more. We have Church of God, Church of God in Christ, and Church of God in Christ covered with the Holy Ghost. There is non-denominational. But are you “we are basically Baptist but wear jeans and play rock music” non-denom or are you “spirit-filled gonna lay hands on you til you fall out” non-denom. I could go on. Sin Is Sin
If you haven’t heard about the Hillsong NYC – Naked Cowboy fiasco, you should go look into it (just don’t get too distracted and make sure you come back and finish reading this). This isn’t going to be a post bashing Hillsong for their decision (even though I do not support what happened, I am shocked that it happened, and wish I was shocked at their response to the uproar). The whole incident just paints a picture of where the church in America is. It is not in a good place. [Read more…] about Sin Is Sin
