This blog is inspired by the TED talk “The Power of Vulnerability” by Brené Brown. I’d encourage you to watch the video, but be warned it is twenty minutes long. You don’t have to watch the video for the blog to be meaningful, so I understand if you would rather not. [Read more…] about Beauty in the Broken

Is the Risk Worth the Reward
Let me start by saying Happy Easter to everyone. Not sure if this will disappoint you or not, but this will not be a blog about Easter. Sorry or you’re welcome, whichever applies.
This past week I was in Myrtle Beach and it was fantastic. I got to spend a lot of time relaxing. [Read more…] about Is the Risk Worth the Reward
Starting My Future
This probably isn’t late breaking news to many of you, but this past weekend I proposed to my (then) girlfriend, Angela. The most popular question we have been asked since is, “What did she say.” The answer to that question is yes. A lot of you are probably wanting to know what I did to propose. I have been told it was a “very good story” by a very reputable source (*cough* Zeph *cough*). [Read more…] about Starting My Future

Although I’d be careful, (spoiler alert haha) I don’t know if I would want Hurley’s curse for winning with them. If you haven’t seen LOST be warned that there may be many spoilers in this blog. Read at your own risk. [Read more…] about 4 8 15 16 23 42
My Problem With Church

If a special event isn’t good enough, it is my fault. If people aren’t serving God like they should, it is my fault. If someone leaves the church, it is my fault. If a guest feels unwelcome, it is my fault. [Read more…] about My Problem With Church
One down, eleven to go
This past weekend I ran in the Krispy Kreme Challenge for the fourth year in a row. For those of you who don’t know what the KKC is, let me fill you in. You start at the bell tower at NC State and run to Krispy Kreme. Then you eat twelve glazed donuts and run back to the bell tower. The goal is to do all of this in under an hour. The past three years the total distance has been four miles (two there and two back), but this year they increased it to five miles total. [Read more…] about One down, eleven to go
