Today I am celebrating my first Father’s Day as a father. It’s crazy to think my little man is almost 3 months old. Before he was born, I would tell people I was excited about being a dad but wasn’t thrilled about going through the newborn stage. I figured I would like it more when he got to the point he could interact and understand more. Now that I’m almost 3 months in, I’ve learned I don’t mind the newborn stage as much as I thought. Watching him figure things out and develop his personality is fascinating. When he looks at me and smiles it is one of the greatest things in the world. Picture of the Week – 6/1/15
Two months are officially in the books. It is crazy to believe that. Things that seemed brand new a couple of months ago are now just routine. Zeke officially weighed in at 13 pounds 1 ounce and stood 24.25 inches tall at his check-up, so he is still letting all the 6 month old kids out there know he can run with them. He is developing quite a personality and starting to make noises other than screams and cries (which is quite refreshing). If you have paid attention to Angela or my social media, you know he has a smile that will stop the ladies dead in their tracks. [Read more…] about Picture of the Week – 6/1/15

May is one of the craziest months of the year for me. Being a summer camp director, this is when all the preparation hits full force. Staff training starts and takes up at least 2 nights a week. With all the other things added on, life and the other parts of my job never seem to slow down to compensate. During May it is easy to get hyper focused on all the tasks that need to get done. Have I replied to all the emails? Are my trainings ready? Is the PowerPoint ready? [Read more…] about Picture of the Week – 5/19/15
Picture of the Week – Mother’s Day Edition (5/10/15)
This Mother’s Day has taken a new turn for me this year. It is the first year I get to celebrate with Angela being a mom. The journey getting here is one of the craziest I’ve ever seen. Through it all there is one thing I have noticed. Angela is one of the strongest people I know. She has fought through so many things over the course of her pregnancy and the first 6 weeks of Zeke’s life that we could probably write a novel about it. They always say that time flies when you are having fun. Time also flies when you are dealing with a newborn. Except in the middle of the night when they decide they don’t want to sleep. Then it can seem as though time lasts forever. You feel as though hours have gone by and you check your watch and realize it was only 15 minutes. It’s at the point that you wish you could reason with them. You wish you could speak and they would understand what you were saying and listen. But you can’t so you just start running down your check list. [Read more…] about Picture of the Week – 4/27/15

On April 20th the picture I will be posting will not be similar to the pictures most people will be posting, but I’d argue it’s better. A few days ago I posted on Facebook, “Not trying to jinx it but Zeke is asleep in his crib.” I jinxed it. Within a couple minutes of posting that he was awake. We haven’t tried to put him in the crib since then. We have a bassinet next to our bed that makes it easy to soothe him without having to get up. Today was my first day back at work since he was born. [Read more…] about Picture of the Week – 4/20/15
