If you were to ask me a month ago where my career was heading, I would not have hesitated to say, “I plan on sticking around the YMCA for a while, hoping to be a full time director soon.” So naturally a couple weeks ago when I heard a youth director position at my branch was opening I got really excited. 180 Days
Today is day 180 of the school year, the last day of the year. It is the day that everyone has been counting down to. Next week there will be no more early arrivals, no more after school. Instead we will be heading full steam in to summer camp. Today is the last day youth staff at the Y will wear the red staff shirts. Selfish Sacrifice
This week I have started a new job. My good friend Jim’s grandfather is not doing so well. He is suffering from Alzheimer’s, among other issues with getting old. His grandmother needs help taking care of him at night. Jim, his brother, and I have started a rotation to help. For a week at a time, one of us will stay the night at their house.
