Thanks to my dog peeing on my comforter, I’m sitting in a laundromat waiting for it to finish washing. It brings me back to my college days. It is crazy to think that some of those days were over ten years ago. Where on Earth did all the time go? Thinking back on those years brings back some great memories. There is so much that I was able to do. At the same time, there is so much that I haven’t done. There are dreams that I have not chased.
When I got my year-in-review about my blog from WordPress it was depressing. How can I say I want to develop a blog when I put so little work into it? That is why I set out to change things this year. In January I was doing great. Now it’s only February and I’m already start to slip. The truth is I know what I need to do, I just don’t always do it. I let distractions or even laziness get in the way. It isn’t easy to turn dreams into reality, but one surefire way to make sure they don’t is to not take any steps towards them. I don’t want to be like the slave in the Parable of the Talents (Matthew 25:14-30) that gets called wicked and lazy because they did nothing with their talents. If that is the case I need to get off my butt and start doing something.
Time isn’t going to wait for anyone. Don’t wait on your dreams or they won’t be anything but a dream.
