Every time a major holiday approaches I always debate whether to write a post based on the theme of that holiday. Do I write a post about being thankful around Thanksgiving? Do I write a post about freedom around Independence Day? Do I write a post about Jesus being our savior around Christmas? You may have noticed that typically the answer I come up with is no. It feels a little to cliché to me. So here I am on Christmas Eve debating what to write about. Will it mean I don’t love my family if I don’t post how I love to spend time with them at Christmas? Will Jesus stop reading my blog if I don’t write this post about him?
I often wonder if other bloggers go through this same process around the holidays. Are they sitting at their computers right now debating the same thing? Probably not. They probably were responsible and wrote their post days ago and scheduled it to go up today. Either way, here I am writing this post.
I haven’t really got into Christmas music this year. I’m not really sure why, but I haven’t. However, I love the Pentatonix’s version of Mary, Did You Know? It gives me chills listening to it. It is such a beautiful arrangement and the words of the song are so powerful. If you haven’t heard it, check it out below.
We didn’t send out Christmas cards this year, so this is going to be our electronic card. Angela, Iron Man, and I wish you and your family a very Merry Christmas. We hope you get to spend it with people you love and get to eat lots of good food. Most of all, we hope you celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ and the freedom from sin he came to bring.
And the angel said to them, “Fear not, for behold, I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people. 11 For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord.” – Luke 2:10-11
until next time…
