It’s Friday, Friday, gotta get down on Friday! I’m back with some things that helped me get through the week and take my mind off all the craziness. As always, I don’t want to make light of a serious situation, but I do want to show some of the rays of sun that I am seeing in the storm. We have all spent our fair share of time reading the news and all need somewhere to escape. Here are my recommendations for the week.
LEGO Masters
This show was released in perfect timing for my family. Zeke is currently obsessed with LEGO. We could probably remove every other toy from his room and he would be just fine. Every day he is playing with his sets or creating new things to go along with them. We knew that Zeke would love this show, but Angela and I thoroughly enjoyed it. We wanted to screen each episode before Zeke watched it, but ended up looking forward to it each week. Thankfully Fox kept it very family friendly (there were a few words in a couple episodes). Will Arnett, as the host, constantly mocking reality competition show made it even better.
Frozen Fruit In Water
This may seem like a very odd addition to my recommendations. I love adding frozen fruit to my water. I get very bored with plain water. However, I know to be healthier I need to drink a good amount of it. The frozen fruit is a game changer for me. The little bit of flavor makes all the difference. Berries are my go to, but peaches are good as well. Mint is also wonderful in water (yes I know this isn’t a fruit so just consider it a bonus recommendation this week). They say it’s the little things in life, and this is one of the little things for me.
“Dad” Versions of Frozen Songs
If you have a child (or relative or kid you babysit or anyone that loves Frozen) and you are sick of hearing the songs, I may have a win-win solution for you. New Found Glory has a version of Let It Go and Panic! At the Disco has a version of Into the Unknown. They are both fantastic. For some reason Addie doesn’t think I can get the movie versions on my phone. For some reason I don’t feel inclined to tell her that’s not true. She calls the covers the “daddy” versions and the movie originals the “Addie” version. I actually enjoy the covers, and so does she. I may be jamming to them while writing this. Win-win.
That’s it for my recommendations this time around. Stay safe and check back next week for a new post!
until next time…
