It’s Friday again! This post is going out a little late because I fell asleep at the computer last night trying to finish it. Slowly but surely we are getting back to “normal” life but the rain didn’t help feeling stir-crazy this week. As always, I don’t want to make light of a serious situation, but I do want to show some of the rays of sun that I am seeing in the storm. Here are my recommendations for this week.
Cold Brew Coffee
Now that the weather is getting warmer, I still want to enjoy a cup of coffee in the morning but don’t like drinking a hot beverage in hot weather. My solution is cold brew coffee. I have all the supplies to make it myself. I use half gallon mason jars and THIS filter. I use the filter because it makes it easier when it comes time to strain the coffee. You will find lots of different theories on how long you should steep the coffee. I like my coffee strong so I go for the full 24 hours.
Homemade Ice Cream
During the quarantine lots of people having been baking and making things since they have some extra time. Our go-to has been homemade ice cream. We have the ice cream maker attachment for our KitchenAid mixer so that makes it super easy. With strawberries in season, we have been making some delicious strawberry ice cream. Fresh strawberries in fresh homemade ice cream is a winning combo.
Beachbody on Demand
One thing I’ve been motivated to do in the past few weeks is to get back to a regular workout routine. At my current stage of life, getting out to a gym is not practical. My solution is to subscribe to Beachbody on Demand. You get access to all the Beachbody workout plans through streaming for $100/year. It’s cheaper than any gym membership and has lot of different workout plans. I don’t buy all their meal supplement stuff, and just use the workouts (I have my own plan for working on the eating side of being healthy).
