If you are from North Carolina, or any of the surrounding states, there is one thing that is almost considered a universal truth: Bojangles’ sweet tea is the best (other than your Mama’s or Grandma’s). I don’t agree but that is because I don’t like sweet tea. That being said, there is something that almost everyone agrees on, the Bo-Berry biscuit is one of the greatest things ever. That is something I can get on board with. I have friends from out-of-town that will make their first stop in NC at a Bojangles’. If you have never been, yeah it’s that good. Even Scotty McCreery makes sure it’s his first stop when he gets home from a tour!
One trick of the trade you need to know if ordering a Bo-Berry biscuit for the first time is to always ask for more icing. You can’t go wrong with more icing. Unless you are five years old, in which case you probably want to limit your icing intake. Sometimes they will even give you the bottle and let you get as much as you want.
The other thing I love about Bojangles’ is that they serve breakfast all the time. Their sausage gravy is delicious. They also took a page out of Paula Dean’s cookbook and cover their biscuits with enough butter to clog an artery. So now that you are getting a little hungry, you are probably looking for the twist. What is the point I am going to make? No twist this time. No clever life lesson. Just me professing of how much I love Bojangles’ Bo-Berry biscuits. They are fantastic.
until next time…
