Life is happening super fast right now. As I’m sure most of you are aware, my baby boy will be born next March. Angela and I went and registered for a bunch of stuff a couple of weeks ago. That is overwhelming. There are so many choices and so many things you need. I mean there are like 5 million kinds of pacifiers. You don’t want to pick the wrong one and mess your kid up for life. Since having a kid wasn’t enough, Angela and I signed a contract on a house about a week and half ago. We close on the house on November 26, which is 20 days after we signed the contract. It’s my first time buying a house, but I’ve been told that is a super short time frame to close on a house. Luckily, Angela is super excited and has already packed over half our house. I’ve packed some too, but she has done most of the work.
Today, I had a super riveting Sunday afternoon. I went out and bought a refrigerator, washer and dryer. I know you are all jealous. If there was ever a moment I actually felt like I was 30, this afternoon was it. Bought a house, kid on the way, and I’m major appliance shopping. I am super excited about running into the American dream full speed, but it is also somewhat scary. I won’t have a landlord to call on anymore to come and fix all the problems. I’m going to have to buy a lawnmower and cut the grass. At the same time, Angela and I will own a house for the first time. A real place to call home. Rather than pouring money into rent, we will be putting it into an investment.
When you are growing up you look forward to these moments. When they get here, you can’t believe they are happening. If you would have asked me 6 months ago if I thought I’d be a homeowner and have a kid on the way by the end of the year I would have told you that you were crazy. I’ve seen it so many times before, but I never really know where life is going to take me. The one thing I have learned is that it usually isn’t where I expect it to. This life God has given me is an adventure, and I’m just along for the ride. To be honest, it’s a lot of fun.
There is so much to do in the next 2 weeks. Let’s not forget both Angela and I will be working full-time as well. Things are gonna get cray. But when it is all said and done, I’ll be able to kick up my feet and enjoy the view from my new home.
until next time…
