On April 20th the picture I will be posting will not be similar to the pictures most people will be posting, but I’d argue it’s better. A few days ago I posted on Facebook, “Not trying to jinx it but Zeke is asleep in his crib.” I jinxed it. Within a couple minutes of posting that he was awake. We haven’t tried to put him in the crib since then. We have a bassinet next to our bed that makes it easy to soothe him without having to get up. Today was my first day back at work since he was born. I was interested to see how it was all going to play out. My alarm going off this morning was super obnoxious, especially since I haven’t used it in over 3 weeks. But I got up and got to work and everything was going smooth. Then I got a text from Angela. I opened it and saw this picture:
It was accompanied with, “Napping in the crib!” That is a pretty good text to receive on my first day back to work. He ended up napping there until Angela woke him up to feed him. A lot of people asked me on my first day back how much I’ve slept. We have actually been able to sleep a pretty good amount. I feel like I’m almost cheating the system because other than a couple of nights, he has slept for good chunks through the night. Hopefully the picture above will become the new norm and we will be able to fully transition him to the crib.
Side note: The thermometer on our monitor may be broken because our AC is set to 73. I’ll keep you posted as we monitor the situation. *insert “I see what you did there”*
until next time…
