The full circle is now complete.. I am back to where I started (in 2003)… blogging. First it was xanga and everyone had to have it. It is how I stayed in touch with all my friends from high school. Then it moved to MySpace, and I was super reluctant to make the switch, but finally did when xanga was dying and everyone left. Then Facebook came along, again I was reluctant to make the switch, until Facebook took over the world and I was left with no choice. And now I’m back to blogging, and the biggest question everyone has is why.
Because I can
Ok not really. Here’s my story…
Part 1
So I have wanted to buy a domain for years now (just ask Derek haha). I’ve never really known what I would do with it, which is why I haven’t bought one, but I knew I wanted one. Nickspindler.com was always taken every time I checked, so last year I came up with iamnickspindler.com. Since I had nothing to do with a website, I just kept the idea in my back pocket.
Part 2
Then couple weeks ago, a few days after we had an amazing One Life event, I had this sudden urge to blog about it. I thought about writing it and putting it up on the tvonelife page, but I shrugged it off and forgot about it. A couple of weeks later, at church a bunch of us were talking about how we all had xangas back in the day. The next night when I was at home I decided to see if my xanga was still up. And it was. So I started reading my old blogs. I spent over an hour reading them. As I read them I noticed how passionate I was, and how much I talked about what God was doing in my life. Lots of people would read it and we all got a lot out of it. Something hit me that night… why was I not still doing this. Maybe a couple of weeks ago that wasn’t me just wanting to write a blog, maybe God was trying to tell me something. Well this time I have decided to actually listen. And thus, iamnickspindler.com is born. I finally figured about what to do with that domain, and believe or not nickspindler.com actually became available and now I also own that one and will keep it in my back pocket haha.
So let me welcome you to my site. Feel free to come back when you would like. Leave comments on blogs, share them with friends, bookmark the page, whatever you want. I don’t really know what this will turn into, but I am excited to see!! My hope is that God will use this site to change people’s lives.
On a completely random note: After reading all those blogs and seeing the music I was listening to back then it has made want to listen to those CDs. Kids in the Way – Apparitions of Melody is still quite fantastic. Next up is Emery – The Question. Also, there is one thing I will be continuing from my old blogging days, and that is my sign off
until next time…

Your story sounds a little like mine, except God has been taking me toward my career as a health care professional…
I can’t wait to read more. I actually considered starting one myself related to health and wellness…maybe coming soon 😉
