The Gift of Giving

Giving is something I’ve wanted to write about for a while, but with it being a touchy subject I’ve avoided it.  Even though I’m very passionate about it I have stayed away from it, but something happened this week that was too cool not to share.

I Am Still Blessed

Over 4 years ago, I wrote a post called I Am Blessed.  So many times I hear people talked about people who are blessed and it usually equates to one thing. Often we think people who have money and nice things are blessed. It is all around us. Our society is consumed with it. In order for us to have peace and have our needs met we have to have an absurd amount of money in the bank. We have to have the latest model car or the latest gadget. Babies Are Expensive

In case you didn’t know this, babies are expensive (especially your first one).  There is so much stuff you have to get.  There are hospital bills.  There is the cost for adding them to your insurance.  There is a ton of stuff that you need once they are here.  When you think about it, it is easy to freak out.  Angela and I have a goal for her not to return to work full-time.  Thinking about this and crunching numbers in my head, I have immediately been overwhelmed. The Blooming of a Seed

This past week, Angela and I received a lot of furniture from her parents.  They are in the process of downsizing their house and didn’t have space for all the stuff they had.  What started as seeing if we wanted the grill and patio furniture turned into so much more.  By the end of the move, we had received way more than we expected.  It was a huge blessing that will save us a lot of money in the future. What Happened to Black Friday?

Tomorrow we embark into the holiday season once again.  It is a crazy time of year where we have hectic schedules and try our best not to gain weight (which is next to impossible).  It all kicks off with Thanksgiving.  Turkey isn’t my favorite meat, but I love the food that comes with Thanksgiving.  Then we follow it with Black Friday.  I am very disappointed this year that companies have decided to start their sales on Thanksgiving day and ruin the chance for families to spend it together.  Angela and I have saved up gift cards for a TV, and we have waited for Black Friday to buy it.
