I’ve been wrestling with a thought for a while. I have wanted to write about it for a long time now but debated how it would be received. I think it’s finally got to the point where I no longer care because it needs to be said (or re-said because I’m sure I’m not the first to say it). We are at the point that our Vice President is quoting Bible verses and replacing the name of Jesus with the American flag. I think there is a simple truth that we need to admit as a country.

Bring Back Kindness
In 2016 kindness is disappearing in the United States. Everyone in the world is glad that we don’t have to see anymore political ads. In North Carolina those ads have been brutal. Not only did we have to endure all the presidential ones, but we also had very polarizing races for governor and senate among others. I’ve seen at least 2 attack ads per commercial break for at least a month. There are a lot of things going on today that are polarizing people. It covers all my social media feeds and honestly I’m getting a little tired of it. You can’t check Facebook without seeing something about the upcoming election. You can’t check twitter without seeing something about HB2. And I’m not here to take a stance on anything or talk about what is right and what is wrong. When I see all this it just makes me wonder, what if we just loved people?
