Forgiveness seems to be something of a lost art these days. Just go take a peak at Twitter and you are practically guaranteed to find someone condemning and judging someone else (most of the time someone they don’t personally know). We live in a cancel culture that is getting so bad that even Barack Obama is speaking out against it. We live in a culture where being outraged and angry is an acceptable norm, even within Christian circles.

Why Aren’t The Mountains Moving?
There is a passage in Mark 11 that is very well-known and often quoted to build up faith. It is where Jesus talks about if you have faith you can throw a mountain into a sea. I’m sure it’s been used at youth conferences and summer camps with a song that has amazing hand motions. There are probably t-shirts based on that passage that used to be sold at Lifeway (too soon?) that ripped off some outdoor company’s style.

When I was in high school, I spent the night a a friend’s house. In the middle of the night we snuck out of his house. We were drinking, smoking, and doing stupid stuff (like all that dumb stuff you see people on your neighborhood Facebook complain about). A few hours later, we walked in the door and his dad was sitting on the stairs just inside the door. I’m pretty sure my mouth hit the floor and I turned as white as a ghost. We were busted. All the evidence was in the backpack we were wearing. There was nothing we could do to lie about where we were or what we had done.

As a lot of you are already aware, any minute now Zeke will enter the world. About a month ago, I set out to read Ezekiel in the Bible for fun since that is his name. I basically would have to read a chapter a day to finish it by the time his due date got here. I guess you could say the name Ezekiel is a nice Christian name since there is a book in the Bible named that, but that isn’t really why Angela and I picked it. We liked the way it sounded and the meaning of it. Zeke is also a pretty sweet nickname. So I figured I would refresh my memory about the Bible’s Ezekiel for fun.
