This isn’t late breaking news, but just in case you missed it: President Barack Obama was elected to a second term. I already believe the things people (including myself) will rant about Facebook and Twitter can be a little absurd, but what I saw following the election last Tuesday really made me think. There were people that were super happy. There were people that were mad/aggravated/upset. However, there was one thing I saw in particular that really stood out to me. I saw posts in which people were calling for states to secede from the United States. I’ve read that there are twenty-one states that have people starting petitions for this to happen. An Empty Tomb
As I have wrote about previously, I had the incredible opportunity to spend a week in Israel. The trip had such a profound impact on my life. The only events I would say have impacted me more are when I got saved and when I was baptized in the Holy Spirit. Being able to tour around Israel and go to many places that I have read about in the Bible was amazing. Having the opportunity to walk around some of the same places that Jesus was brought a whole new appreciation for what He did for me. I already believed the Bible was real, but seeing all these places brought a new depth to the Bible. I’ve talked to people about the trip, but it is honestly hard to put into words what I learned in Israel. [Read more…] about An Empty Tomb
Success is Rewarding
Last week I started working a track-out program for children with Pervasive Developmental Disorders or Autism at the Y. This is the first time our branch has had a program for these kids. I have had some experience working with children with high functioning Autism, but not with low functioning kids. I was pretty nervous going into it because I didn’t know what to expect. I had received training, but as with any job, you never really know what you are getting into until you start. Part of me knew I was going to have a lot of fun and would learn a lot over the three weeks, but part of me was nervous about what would happen. [Read more…] about Success is Rewarding
I Am Blessed
I’m sorry my blog hasn’t been updated in about a month, but hopefully you all understand. A few weeks ago I left the single life behind. It was an incredible day, and as I look back there is one thing that is abundantly clear to me that I am blessed beyond anything I could ever imagine. Not just blessed to have an amazing wife like Angela, it goes so much deeper than that. The blessing of God was given a whole new meaning in my life that day. [Read more…] about I Am Blessed
A Little Out of the Ordinary
In just over four days, I will be a married man. I’ve known this day was coming for a while now (shocking I know), but this week it has become real to me. Not a scared or nervous real, but just real. Planning a wedding is an interesting process. A special thanks to Google and TheKnot.com for helping us do it without a wedding planner haha. It has had its ups and downs, but there has been one thing we have heard a lot throughout the process. There has been a phrase that has been said many times by many people, “It’s not my wedding…” [Read more…] about A Little Out of the Ordinary
Introduce a Little Anarchy
Yesterday afternoon at after school we got caught in the middle of a big thunderstorm. As if having a big storm with loud thunder wasn’t creating enough chaos for kindergarteners on their first week of after school, the roof in the cafeteria started leaking. And by leaking I actually mean pouring. I have never seen a ceiling leak so bad, it was leaking as fast and heavy as the rain was falling outside. So there we were caught in the middle trying to calm down 50 kids and keep everything organized in the small cafeteria. [Read more…] about Introduce a Little Anarchy
