I haven’t posted much in the past month. It wasn’t just because of the business of the Christmas season. Life hit hard around Thanksgiving and it’s been a process recovering. I made a decision long ago that I was going to be real on my blog. I don’t want to just post “good Christian thoughts” just to post them. I want it to be real and transparent and give an accurate picture of the journey I am on. Into The Unknown
About a month ago I found out the school I work at is closing after this school year. That was an awesome meeting to go to. I am getting ready to wrap up my first year teaching and was looking forward to how I could improve upon things in the fall. But apparently that is not in the cards. Calming The Storms Of Life
People like to say that nothing in life is guaranteed. While I understand what they are trying to say, I don’t agree. There are some things in life that are guaranteed. One of those things is that storms will come. There will be times that try to test us. Jesus, when talking about building your life on a strong foundation, says in Matthew 7:27, “When the rains and floods come and the winds beat against that house, it will collapse with a mighty crash.” The rains and floods are coming. Weathering the Storm
This past Saturday, Josh and I set out to put some miles in on the track. It was lightly raining, but we had checked the radar and it looked we had a window before the heavy rain got to us. During our break after our first set, I commented about how the rain felt good because it was light enough to have a nice cooling effect. The Rain Will Come
As of today, it is exactly three weeks until I am going to be married. A lot of people have been asking me if I am excited. My answer is that it is one of the only bright spots in the current storm. I haven’t made a public statement, but if you pay attention on Facebook you may have noticed Trinity Academy is no longer listed as my employer. Due to budget cuts, I was let go as of last Wednesday.
