My last couple of posts haven’t been the most uplifting, joy-inspiring posts. As I explained in those posts, life has hit my family hard and we are still in the middle of it. The events of the past few months have caused me to really examine what I believe about God and why I believe it. One thing it has really caused me to examine is how I verabilze those beliefs. God is in Control
God is in control is such a simple phrase to say but a hard one to live by. It is so easy to tell someone else, but so hard to hear yourself. I’m a problem solver. Whenever I see an issue arise, I always have some way to fix it. This can be great in certain situations, but is terrible in others. I am awful at telling the difference. When the storms of life come I want to jump up and start fixing all the leaks in the boat. Patience is not my strong suit. Biting my tongue does not come easily. Sure, I’ve heard Matthew 6:33 a million times (Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need) but it doesn’t make it any easier. Introduce a Little Anarchy
Yesterday afternoon at after school we got caught in the middle of a big thunderstorm. As if having a big storm with loud thunder wasn’t creating enough chaos for kindergarteners on their first week of after school, the roof in the cafeteria started leaking. And by leaking I actually mean pouring. I have never seen a ceiling leak so bad, it was leaking as fast and heavy as the rain was falling outside.
