I have completed three triathlons and am now signed up for a fourth. So far in all of my races my swim leg has been the worst part. Knowing this, I have intentionally spent more time in the pool trying to improve. Last week I did something I never thought I would. I took a swim lesson. Obviously I know how to swim well enough to not drown, but I have never had someone coach me on my form (other than my pal Josh teaching me some pointers from YouTube videos he watched). Counting Laps
I am competing in my next triathlon in a couple of weeks, so I have pushed myself while doing swimming workouts. The triathlon is a longer swim distance than my previous one, so I am swimming longer distances for my workouts. Swimming laps in a pool can get rather boring. I don’t have any music to pump me up and keep me going. I just get to think a lot and when I start thinking my mind can wander all over the place.
