The Presidential election is coming up in just a few weeks. Please don’t click off now, I promise this is not a political post (I’m just as sick as you about all the garbage we have to listen to). Over the past few months I’ve had lots of conversations that included the question, “How did we get here?” There are many different views of the current state of the USA. Add that I live in North Carolina and it just makes this past year even more fun. There are many views of how we got to where we currently are. Following Our Founding Fathers
I received a text yesterday that said, “I know the Bible says that we are free from sin, but sometimes I wonder. I think I am incapable of resisting *insert sin here*.” The Bible verse they are referencing is John 8:31-32,36, “Jesus said to the people who believed in him, “You are truly my disciples if you remain faithful to my teachings. 32 And you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free. 36So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.” Jesus died on the cross to set us free from our sins, so those that follow Him are free from that bondage.
