Conflict is a natural part of life. There isn’t really any way to avoid it. Just take one look at the news and it is about all you will see. There are bombings here, shootings there, conflicts everywhere. You can try if you want, but there is not really a way to avoid conflict. As much as we don’t want to admit it, we are the cause of conflict more often than we probably wish. In my job, I deal with it on a daily basis. When kids are running around all day playing games you will inevitably get conflict. In all the conflict I’ve dealt with in my life, I’ve found that there is one thing that solves it every time.
Love.
Love is a game changer. No matter what the situation is, love can flip it upside down and rearrange it. There are all these books and courses on conflict resolution, but it can really be summed up in that one word. Family Force 5 just released a new single called, “Let It Be Love” and in it they sing, “Stronger than every fear. Comfort for all the tears. It’s where the war is run. And it has overcome. Louder than the loudest shout. Deeper than the deepest doubt. We’ll watch the walls fall down.” How beautiful is that? When we show love the walls fall down. It is hard to be combative against love. Love tears down all the defenses.
Now I am not proclaiming that I am a master of this. Truth be told, more often than not that is not the case. But I am trying my hardest to change this because I’ve seen the beauty in it. I can think of times when I chose to just bite my tongue and show love and how awesome the results were. It isn’t always (or ever) easy, but it’s worth it.
How awesome would the world be if we would all love? Join me and let’s start a movement. Let it be love. When people don’t deserve it, let it be love. When you know you’re right, let it be love. When people anger us, let it be love. When people cheat us, let it be love. When people blow up on us, let it be love. No matter what comes against us, let the answer be love.
until next time…
