In less than a week, I’ll embark on a journey that will take me to Europe for the first time. House Church has produced a TV show (TV One Life) for years, and we are on a network in Norway and Sweden. They have invited us to come and do live TV events and events in churches that they work with. The reality that I am going on this trip has not yet completely set in, and I’m sure it won’t until it is unfolding. It’s an incredible opportunity to share the gospel with thousands of people in just over a week.
As I’ve been preparing for this trip, there are a few things I’ve reflected on that I want to share.
1. Be faithful with the little
Luke 16:10 says, “One who is faithful in a very little is also faithful in much, and one who is dishonest in a very little is also dishonest in much.” When we started producing TV One Life we didn’t know much more than God had given Sean a word to do it. That was all we needed. We began taking steps of faith to raise money and start producing the show. We are now five seasons in and this will be the third international trip we have been invited on (we’ve previously been to Israel twice). This isn’t because of anything we have done but because God has taken our small steps and multiplied them. Don’t be afraid of the small beginnings. Take steps faithfully and allow God to supply the increase.
2. Don’t limit God
One day I may write a book on this. I don’t know that I can recall all the incredible things I have seen God do. I really need to get better about journaling. This will be the second international trip I’ve taken with TV One Life without paying anything (I have some generous people supporting me on this trip and have previously been to Israel). Just that alone blows my mind. You could have asked me ten years ago if I thought I’d be traveling internationally ministering through a TV show and I probably would have laughed at you. I’ve learned to stop predicting God’s next move in my life because it’s always greater than I can imagine.
3. David will slay Goliath
Typically when I talk to people about what my church is doing (especially the TV show), they are shocked to hear the size of the church. I’m sure they are thinking we would need to have close to 1000 people to pull off the things we do. When I tell them that we don’t even have 100 people, the look of shock always makes me laugh. We may look small like David, but we are slaying giants. We are seeking after God with all we have and watching Him do amazing things. Next week we will be in Scandinavia ministering to thousands of people. It will be an incredibly challenging task, but we have the faith of David when he faced Goliath. He said in 1 Samuel 17:36, “Your servant has struck down both lions and bears, and this uncircumcised Philistine shall be like one of them, for he has defied the armies of the living God.” We have seen God be victorious in the past, and we know that next week won’t be any different.
I am so excited for the incredible ways that God is going to use the team when we travel to Norway and Sweden. Make sure to follow TV One Life on Facebook and Instagram to keep up with the trip. There will be opportunities to see some of the live TV streamed on Facebook as well. I want to say a special thank you to my mom, my dad, and Susan Woodlief for financially supporting me on this trip. I can’t wait to share the awesome testimonies when we return.
until next time..
